Why Women Should learn Jiu-Jitsu?

Jiu-jitsu is an incredible sport for women.  It provides confidence, skills applicable to self-defense, a means to manage stress/anxiety, greater strength, and a friendly and supportive environment. Whether your goal is to win a World title or simply live a healthier lifestyle, you can find a place here with a support system to help you reach your goals. We want to highlight some of the benefits of jiu-jitsu for women:

Self-defense

Get in shape

Personal Growth

Community

Have fun

The number one reason for women train Jiu-Jitsu is because it teaches you how to protect yourself. There’s a good reason for it: Jiu-Jitsu is designed to help a smaller/weaker person defeat a larger/stronger opponent.  We’ll teach you how to use leverage, timing, and critical thinking to navigate challenging situations.

Prevention is the best form of defense, and that’s why every woman should learn self-defense tactics and principles for common situations with an aggressor. You don’t ever want to have to use them, but if you do….you’ll be glad you know it.

Protecting yourself is important, and Jiu-Jitsu has much more to offer than “just” self-defense. BJJ can help you to get in shape, since you can burn from 470 to 670 calories per class, and it will also helps you to:
•  deal with frustration, develops your confidence, and teaches you persistence;
•  be kind to yourself;
• help you erase a lot of insecurities by showing you all the awesome things your body can do;
• you don’t need to be big and strong to be good at it;
• the sisterhood is like no other. People who train Jiu Jitsu are bound to become your family;
• It smashes ideas about what a woman “should” or “shouldn’t” do.
