As of today, Team Marra Jiu-Jitsu is under Six Blades Jiu-jitsu Association. We are now  Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu Fort Worth.

Our purpose, explicit in our logo, is the mantra of our brand and the path for our evolution.
It was not an easy decision, as no change is, and we will still go through a transition period, until everything is organized under the new brand.

We are always guided by transparency in order to make this transition smooth for everybody. And that’s why we are sharing more details in this post.

We are following the path that we believe is the one that best serves our students, to evolve under the same values: Family, Respect, Loyalty, discipline, attitude and Honor.

The Six Blades are the moral values that Ribeiro JJ and Six Blades Jiu-jitsu share. But from now they are two different organizations. Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu will continue to be led by Saulo Ribeiro. And Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu will now be led by Xande Ribeiro.

As sensei Xande Ribeiro said: “Saulo is my brother and my idol—always has been, always will be. He taught me, led me, and paved so many roads—as my brother, my idol, my coach, my friend. Under his leadership, we built Ribeiro JiuJitsu. I’m honored to have helped him realize his vision for the World of JiuJitsu. I’m proud of our incredible Association, with so many incredible athletes across the globe. We are 6 Blades for life—all of us.(…) As we know, family first, family always. Saulo has always led me towards greatness. But I’d like to walk my own path and realize my own vision. We are all still the 6 Blades JiuJitsu family. Ribeiro will always be the name I’m honored to call mine. Saulo will always be my beloved brother. We will continue to support one another, but I will be starting my own branch separately from Ribeiro JiuJitsu, and no longer a co-leader with Saulo, who will maintain full ownership of Ribeiro JiuJitsu. He will continue to lead with honor.”

And sensei Saulo Ribeiro: “My brother and I have been fighting, leading, and working in our organization for the past 20 plus years. In these times when ideas, people, and projects are no longer in sync, the best business decision is to choose family first. I can’t put in words how much love I have for Xande and will always be there for him or any of his students. Now on he will be able to really exercise his leadership and vision inside his own organization. (…) Every end is a new beginning and words can’t describe how proud I am for the battles, struggles, victories, blood, sweat, and tears my brother and I share together”

What does this change for our students?

Nothing for now. Our head coach remains Leonel Marra, we will continue to receive friends from all over the world to visit and train with us, regardless of any association or flag. Our students can continue to wear the same uniforms and we will gradually switch to those of the new Association.

The plan didn’t change: Heavy Jiu-Jitsu in a light vibe. We are building the best Jiu-Jitsu team of Fort Worth,  based in good technique but also in strong values. And we just keep to follow the plan.
